The Opportunity

About the Brand

Black Women Talk Tech (BWTT) is the largest resource platform for women technologists, entrepreneurs, and tech professionals. They aim to empower Black female entrepreneurs to thrive in the tech industry by providing community, resources, and opportunities to scale their businesses.

Objective

To position BWTT’s flagship conference, Roadmap to Billions, as the must-attend event for Black female entrepreneurs and innovators. The goals included:

  • Attracting a substantial number of attendees
  • Boosting BWTT’s digital presence and social media following

The Plan

With Roadmap to Billions on the horizon, we crafted a bold, multi-channel marketing strategy with influencer marketing at its core. Here’s how we made it happen:

  1. Influencer Marketing
    • We sourced, negotiated, and managed relationships with over 35 LinkedIn, Twitter, and Instagram influencers
    • Influencers created content that highlighted the conference’s value, from showcasing keynote speakers to sharing their excitement about the community impact
  2. Email Marketing
    • We transformed BWTT’s newsletter into a central hub for Black female entrepreneurs. Beyond promoting the conference, we shared:
      • Job openings
      • Fundraising opportunities
      • Industry events
      • Micro events
  3. Social & Digital Content
    • Platforms like Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter became vibrant hubs of conversation and connection in the lead-up to the event
  4. Event Marketing
    • To keep momentum high, we hosted live conversations across Instagram Live, Twitter Spaces, Clubhouse, and LinkedIn, engaging potential attendees directly
  5. Paid Advertising
    • We launched a comprehensive paid strategy across Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook, targeting entrepreneurs, technologists, and women in leadership roles
    • The ads reinforced BWTT’s expertise in understanding their audience’s unique challenges and showcased Roadmap to Billions as the ultimate solution
  6. Rebrand & Website Redesign
    • We unveiled a fresh brand identity and a redesigned website so that BWTT’s digital presence reflected the professionalism and innovation of the Roadmap to Billions conference

Results

  • Attendees: Over 6,000 attendees (Entrepreneurs, innovators, and more)
  • LinkedIn Audience Growth: +400%
  • Instagram Audience Growth: +40.6%
